What is your current career stage and what can help you unlock your next level?
I am an incoming entertainment lawyer at an international law firm focused on copyright and trademark law. I am passionate about art and am dedicated to helping artists gain ownership of their creative projects and intellectual property. I wish to expand my client base and work with artists in my community. 1833's network will allow me to meet like-minded individuals and connect with those I aspire to represent.
Why would you want to join 1833/١٨٣٣?
As an Arab-American, I deeply connect with 1833's Club's mission of broadening Arab voices. I wish to expand my circle of Arab friends globally and learn more about upcoming Arab artists and pioneers. I would use my membership to attend events, make new friends, and share in cultural and artistic exchanges. I have lived abroad in Dubai, Amman, and will be in living Madrid starting this fall. I love to travel, and my time overseas and personal studies have given me a unique global perspective. I cannot wait to meet others who share the same values and become a resource for any members.
What are your creative interests? How do you spend your free time?
On the weekends, I love to gallery hop, check out the latest collections at art museums, try new restaurants and cocktail bars, and discover underground DJ sets. I also enjoy going to musicals and plays. I split my time between Denver and New York City and enjoy the ability to explore two different worlds. I have moderate proficiency in both Arabic and Spanish and love to travel to countries where I can practice my language skills. For instance, I traveled around Mexico, Colombia, and Morocco in the last two years. The surf retreat I did in Taghazout, Morocco this winter was definitely a highlight of my travels!
