What is your current career stage and what can help you unlock your next level?
Right now I’m juggling a few things — I’m teaching a class on materiality at Istituto Marangoni, developing new work for my art and design practice, and taking part in a residency at 421 Arts Campus. With my design firm, Ordinary Objects, we’re also working on expanding into bigger collections and connecting with a wider audience in the region and beyond.
What can help unlock the next level is carving out more space to really go deeper into my practice. I also think the right collaborations and working with people who challenge and complement my way of thinking can push me further than I can go alone.
Why would you want to join 1833/١٨٣٣?
I’d love to join 1833 to be part of a community that brings together people from all kinds of backgrounds and practices. I really like those kinds of exchanges and feel that they always open up new ways of thinking and seeing.
I can use my membership to exchange, both hearing and learning from fellow members as well as introducing them to my own little universe and the lens that I experience the world from. I’d love to share that with that community, and hopefully it adds something to other people’s journeys.
I also have a very particular interest and skill set that I'd love to share through a variety of activations.
What are your creative interests? How do you spend your free time?
Besides my practice, art and design are a big part of what I love doing. When I'm not spending my time exploring my interest in the art and design world, I'm either fussing over my plants (constantly trying to figure out how to make them happier) or hunting down my next spinning class in Dubai.
